PeopleSoft Technical Developer (003030)PeopleSoft DivisionExempt, Regular, Full-time, Grade GThe PeopleSoft Division is seeking a PeopleSoft Technical Developer who is responsible for performing analytical and technical tasks in support of the PeopleSoft Technical Services Department for UMUC. The PeopleSoft Technical Developer will report to the Interim Associate Vice President of PeopleSoft. Specific responsibilities include:
Ability to apply System Development Life-Cycle (SDLC) methodology to produce quality technical products for PeopleSoft Initiatives
Providing services in technical support of on-call rotation for world-wide 24x7 PeopleSoft system
Interpreting delivered functional design specifications representing the requirements from the user community
Creating technical specifications based on the existing functional specification document for use in maintenance and development tasks
Leveraging technical experience for solid recommendations on efficiency in problem solving
Developing functional skills to blend with technical expertise to engage user community as a partner in business department solutions
Researching technical issues, such as online modifications with the User Interface (UI), Batch processing jobs and/or data specific recommendations for streamlining business process
Reporting directly to PS Technical Lead / PS Technical Manager for task assignments, code-review and adherence to UMUC development standards
Performing other job-related duties as assignedRequirements
Bachelor's degree is required in a computer science or related field
Requires a minimum of (3) years of technical and analytical experience related to PeopleSoft 8.X or equivalent ERP development suite#2
Successful candidates will possess strong technical knowledge in at least one of the major PeopleSoft production areas involving Finance (FSM), Human Resources (HRM) or Learning Solutions (LSM)
Experience in a minimum of one of the following area modules is highly desirable:
Learning Solutions Management -> financial aid, student records, academic advisement, student financials, campus community, or degree audit.
Financial Systems Management -> General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Asset Management, Purchasing, e-Procurement
Human Resource Management -> Payroll, HR, Recruiting, Base Benefits, e-Recruit, e-Pay, e-Profile, e-Compensation
The successful candidate should have a command of one or more of the following Programming Languages: COBOL, SQR or PeopleCode
Well versed in the use of Application Designer or comparable development suite
Development skills include use of SQL/Tools, Application Engine, Integration Tools (App. Messaging) or advanced PeopleCode skills
Demonstrated communication skills to meet with user in an attempt to resolve conceptual discrepancies in development and system maintenance tasks
Team player for single projects and coordinated efforts within PS Initiatives
Willingness to continue to develop technical skills for growth opportunities within the organization
Additional related experience and formal education in which one has gained the knowledge, skills and abilities required for full performance of the work of the job class may be substituted for the education or experience requirement on a year-for-year basis with 30 college credits being equivalent to one year of experience
